Real Housewife of New York Sings – In last week’s episode of “The Real Housewives of New York,” Countess LuAnn de Lesseps recorded her first single “Money Can’t Buy You Class” with a local music producer named Chris Young.
“With access to Pro Tools, really anyone who has a personality can sing,” said Mr. Young. He said he met Countess socially at a Manhattan club, according to the WSJ. “With the aid of a computer, a producer should be able to derive listenable product from anyone, if he uses his imagination. Obviously if someone doesn’t have much vocal ability, you wouldn’t want to go out and sing a ballad. You’d want to sing something that uses your speaking voice. That’s what I did with the Countess. She hasn’t had much formal training, it’s pretty clear.”
Mr. Young went on to describe what he wanted to achieve for the song. “I used her voice to paint out a woman of elegance and class,” he explained. “I thought of the backing track as something I would hear in Bergdorf’s if I was shopping. I thought what would I hear at the W Hotel?”
Mr. Young, an independent record producer who has worked with George Clinton and remixed Ashlee Simpson, added that the response to his appearance has been “befuddling.” “Every time it airs, I’m inundated with 150 to 220 people who want to work with me. This week alone – probably 1,400 emails. I don’t even know who’s who and what’s what! The Ramones are calling, Salt n’ Pepa.”
He plans to give his royalties to Ronald McDonald House. “My motives were to give the gift of a beautiful single to a friend of mine,” he said.

LuAnn de Lesseps (born May 17, 1965), is best known for her appearances on the reality television show The Real Housewives of New York City. She is often referred to as “The Countess” on the show as a result of her previous marriage to French count Alexandre de Lesseps, a descendant of Ferdinand de Lesseps, the architect of the Suez Canal.

Lesseps’ divorce from her husband, Alexandre de Lesseps, was finalized at the end of 2009, although she has said she plans to continue referring to herself by her married name and title. The couple have two children, Victoria and Noel.
She is fluent in French and Italian.
She stated on several episodes of The Real Housewives of New York City that she is of Native American descent.[1] Her father is of Algonquin descent and her mother is of French descent.[2]
