Perez Hilton:Lady Gaga is Bigger Than Beyonce – In a recent interview with VIBE, pop culture blogger Perez Hilton, proclaimed that Lady Gaga is a bigger pop star than Beyonce.
“I would say that Gaga is a bigger pop star than Beyonce right now, just based on the sheer statistics. Like, all of Gaga’s singles have gone top of the charts,” said Perez. “Gaga’s tour, selling out. Beyonce last tour did not have a lot of sellouts. And I’m not dissing her or anything. I’m just looking at it statistically.”
The self-proclaimed Gaga fanatic had more to say about the duo’s latest video, “Telephone.”
“I think the “Telephone” video blows away the “Video Phone” video. “Telephone is such an epic work of art. It’s like a mini movie and there’s so much going on, it really lends itself to repeated viewings,” said Perez. “What’s great about it is even though it’s Gaga’s song featuring Beyonce, they both come across really well in the video and they both work really well together. There’s lots of criticism from lots of people but you know what, Gaga doesn’t care. She makes art and music for her fans and her fans love the video.”
In other Perez news, the self-proclaimed “Queen of All Media” celebrated his birthday earlier this week. Hilton, born Mario Armando Lavandeira, turned 32 on March 23.
While Tuesday was his actual birthday, the party doesn’t jump off until Saturday March 27. Legendary singer Liza Minnelli will headline the carnival-themed party along with performances by Leona Lewis, Eve, Mya and Nicole Scherzinger.
“We are happier than we’ve ever been before and are smiling from ear to ear,” Perez wrote on his blog. “Life is good!”

Because someone went to school to study music and art. Doesn’t make them artificial it makes them determined to master there craft.
Beyonce is more artificial of the two, she can’t play piano, write her own songs, design her own music videos, stage sets, or costumes. She has a better range than Gaga but Beyonce doesn’t compare in any other category.
Just for the record lady Gaga can never be bigger than Beyonce, Beyonce remains and is undisputedly the best when it comes to music and dance , she is far more Talented and accomplished than gaga will ever be, right now gaga’s just going with beginners luck lets see how far she goes only then can we truly Judge and compare her to B, as for now she’s no where near B.
hmm i do like gaga. But i dunno about her longevity. Beyonces been in the game for like, 12 years now? and she’s stronger than ever. Her music has range, and its more critically aclaimed. She can do soul, r&b, hip hop, pop, electro. Gaga’s is the same old ish. We’ll see what happens when gaga brings out a second album. I can see beyonce bein the next “michael jackson” type figure. With gaga, its all about the packaging. Beyond the weird fashion/videos is pretty bland electro-pop. I think she’s a fashion that wont last that long.

Beyonce has one 5/6 GRAMMY’s for her first SOLO debut and that’s not even counting the other 3 she won when she was with Destiny’s Child.
The four singles she released from her DEBUT SOLO album peaked the top 4 spots on the BILLBOARD HOT 100! Lady GAGA on the other hand peaked in the top 6 with her 4 singles from her DEBUT ALBUM.
BEYONCE IS NOT EVEN A POP SINGER SHE’S CLASSIFIED AS AN R&B singer and yet she was able to snag top honors in POP charts and awards.
Perez only says these nice things about Gaga because of his close relationship with her, and for the fact that she’s openly BISEXUAL, and so that what attracts him more. When GAGA WINS 6 GRAMMYS and one and 16 total within three SOLO albums than I will take his comments seriously. I hate that he compared her to GAGA because they’re both uniquely different in their own way.
I like both women but i am a avid beyonce fan , have been since Destiny’s child , and i think Gaga is great as well her music is different in a good way , but it is stupid to compare the two, Beyonce has been in the music game for a really long time and i think its disrespectful to say Gaga is bigger or better then Beyonce. i know people all through out the world that knows the name beyonce , but they really don’t know who GaGa is yet . and i know some people who much prefer Beyonce’s music to Gaga’s , i respect both Artist but i think it’s stupid to try and start this rivalry as Perez is trying to do. He needs to grow up there is room for everyone in music.
Lady gaga is very much bigger and better than beyonce. Take Beyonce..rip off her wig, fake eye lashes, and all the other smoke and mirrors and all you have is a gyrating crotch in front of a marketing machine. Beyonce was made in the mold of J Lo, now that gaga is big, she jumps on the gaga wagon to up her ‘art’ cred. No beyonce, you’re good for selling sex and leotards but gaga has crossed all demographics for her ability to actually write her own music and say something meaningful besides some stupid BS about being a diva or wearing a freakum dress or whatever garbage it is Beyonce yelps about. She’s schooled in it and gives intelligent interviews (whereas Beyonce sounds like she forgets her script and devolves into dummy talk full of ums and blank stares). Gaga is a true artist, Beyonce is a good voice (but not as good in terms of range from even singers at church) packaged in sequins–nothing more because she does not CREATE anything. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to do their research.
One of your statements is just stupid… Lady Gaga did not just peak in the top 6 with her 4 singles, all 4 singles of The Fame went to #1, she has had 6 consecutive #1s so far… She’s had the same amount of success as Beyonce in just a year.

1) @Sasha: I think that you may be able to speculate that B can be the next MJ type figure, i’ll give you that.
2) @lADY GAGA IS A FAKE: Fake as Madonna, ok sure why not? I don’t think Gaga’s fans have a problem with that and don’t think Gaga does either, for her fans it’s art and entertainment just like theater so fake or role playing is cool in my book.
3) @Chris: I think that that both Gaga and B are unique in what each of them do.
History has shown that each era has their “epic” stars. If you want to say that the new Michael Jackson & Madonna of our young generation is B and Gaga, I think that is the reasonable thing to say. They are both great, grand artists, and performers but, if they are not in dispute over who’s First, Top, Best, or #1. Why should you? Just sit back and enjoy the show.
I personally like Gaga more than B just like I like Madonna more than MJ but I listened to both of their music growing up and loved them both for totally different reasons. The only thing that they both have is common is.. They’re great at what they do individually.
Simple fact, Lady GaGa is a bigger pop star than Beyonce, not because shes better, but because AT THE MOMENT her star shines FAR brighter than B’s, Beyonce has a wonderful voice, and can dance very well, but she is nothing more than a brilliant performer who can do her own makeup,while Lady GaGa can sing well (check her acoustics!), play numerous instruments (piano, violin, guitar) and while she is not the best dancer, her dances are ORIGINAL and creative, lets be honest, any succesful artist is nothing more than a package of what is popular at the moment. But Lady GaGa is one the most interesting, talked about and listened to pop star of the last 20 years (check Time magazine). Her album frikin went DIAMOND!! Who does that???? But yeah, both are talented women, but gaga is by far the bigger pop star! (R&B would be a WHOLE nother story) but since were talking about pop music, Lady GaGa is the new queen.
Yeah i know that Beyonce has been around more time, but seriousy GAGA has done much better in just few years. i think that she didn’t won all the Grammy awards, because some of the stupid a** that had to choose the winners are just a bunch of old people that don’t like GAGA. Any ways lets just not compare two different artist, because i like them both, buth sorry Beyonce in just one year GAGA has arrive to the top and now she my favorite singer.. love gaga 4ever. B and Gaga are really good at what they do, but i dont like the idea of comparing both cos B has been the game for long and gaga is more like a new artist. I love them both but i love bee more, point of correction 4 those who think bee doesnt writes her songs, she does
I am so sick and tired of people hating and talking about Beyonce and comparing her to people. There ain’t no competition. There is no other female artist white or black, older or newer that have the effect on people that Beyonce have. She’s 1 of a kind and she’s very classy because If you notice, she never responds back to what none of the negativity thrown her way and I love it about her. She got a 92 year old Bitch name Etta James hating on her. It’s sad. she cannot help it If God gave her the voice and the talent. It’s really pathetic that she’s all about Female empowerment and other chicks try to dog her because they don’t shine like her. And she just keep it movin. People say that when the next best thing come she will be blown away and that is cool but there will never be another Beyonce.
Nobody should say what Gaga will never accomplish in the future….when Beyonce first arrived on the music scene in 1997, it took her six years to go solo and become the international superstar that she is today and while it took Gaga less time, that maybe to due to the fact that the world is slow about accepting it’s black artist regardless of how talented they are. Just look at how the mainstream only gives atten. to Beyonce…as if there are no other black females singers and performers who can do just as well as she does…simply put, it’s easier for a white entertainer to “make it” in the biz than it is an african american, which is why Beyonce’s fame, wealth and success came to her slowly. Gaga reminds me of Madonna…..and I do think Gaga will have longevity in the industry b/c she knows how to change things up and reinv. herself and image, she is wierd per say and isnt like all the other pop stars like Beyonce, who puts out this good girl/nice girl image for all these years–not that anything is wrong with it, but ppl like drama at times, they like ppl they can relate to on a daily basis….most of Bey’s fans can relate to the songs she sings, but not to her b/c for the most part, she was sheltered by her parents, and isn’t considered weired or diff. by the public…
Also, it’s not always about how many awards an artist has or how long they have been “in the game.” It’s true that Beyonce has been in the music biz longer than Gaga, thus she has accomplished more as far as awards and being able to perform for certain events, plus she is older than Gaga too…so that plays a part in it. Also, Beyonce has more Grammy’s than Michael Jackson, but does that make her greater or better than him? HELL FREAKING NO! So, I say that to make a point….it’s really about how the fans react to you…MJ may have not grace many covers as Bey has, or has as many Grammy’s as she does, but he had a fan base and talent that Bey can’t even begin to match. Bey’s main fan base are women….MJ had a fan base of ranging from 0-100 years of age. I don’t know for certain what is Gaga’s fan base, but her’s isn’t like MJ’s either. At any rate, Gaga has only been out for what…maybe 3 years and she has made history, broken records, so if she can keep this up, who knows, she just may have longevity in the biz…in fact, I think both Beyonce and Gaga will have longevity, but just remeber, they both have they’re strengths and weaknesses. Beyonce has the better voice and good girl and she can dance, and Gaga writes her own music, isn’t afraid to take chances and she seems to be more focused on her fans and not necc. money. Beyonce and her family come across as being scared Bey will some how fade away from the limelight. Also, Gaga didn’t reach success by using other ppl like having a group formed around her to propel her solo career, while it has been said that Bey did. So Bey’s road to fame and success is totally diff. from Gaga’s.
they are both talented. sure, b hasn’t had songs out for a while, but they are in different genres. b has a great range and dance skills and stage presence and has been in the game since 15 yrs of age. gaga is a lot more out there. she plays piano, yes, and writes her own stuff. she has an interesting voice and great songs. i am merely more obsessed with lady because i see more of myself in her. she has a dark side, as we all do, and she’s not afraid to show it and invite us all in.
