R&B singer Trey Songz was arrested in Springfield, MA early Sunday (Nov 4) along with several members of his entourage following a shooting outside a local venue. Songz was charged with behaving as a disorderly person and resisting arrest. The singer, born Tremaine Neverson, was released after posting $500 bond. The shooting took place in the parking lot of The Hippodrome, where Songz performed Saturday evening.
“Our disorderly person charge can involve several different things including the use of certain language, failure to do what an officer asks,” Slepchuck told AllHipHop.com. “[Neverson] was interfering with an active crime scene involving a victim.”

A DeKalb, Georgia resident has been arrested and charged with vandalizing a statue of Tupac Shakur at the arts centre named after the iconic rapper. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, 43 year-old Kenneth Anthony Wilson was charged late last week with second-degree criminal damage to property, a felony. Wilson is currently being held in a DeKalb jail under $1,500 bond. Dekalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said authorities have no reason to believe the crime was racially motivated. Wilson is an African-American. Initial reports of the incident from the centre’s publicist said a noose was hung around the neck of the statue although police maintain it was a cross on a string.

JIVE Records has issued a statement denying their artist T-Pain was arrested Nov. 2 in Tallahassee, Florida for outstanding warrants. According to WCTV, 24-year-old Faheem Najm (T-Pain) was arrested on outstanding warrants for a non moving traffic violation and driving while license suspended. But, T-Pain’s label JIVE has released a statement denying these allegations.
“T-Pain was given a few traffic tickets several years ago for minor infractions [a speeding ticket, running a stop sign, failure to pay]” a representative for Jive said. “These were mistakes that Pain made as a young man that just received his driver’s license. He did not have the money nor the knowledge at the time to take care of them.”
The JIVE rep says T-Pain wasn’t arrested and he voluntarily turned himself in.
“There was no bail and he was released on his own recognizance within a few hours…He will not miss any scheduled engagements” said the JIVE rep.
T-Pain released his sophomore album “Ephinany,” earlier this year featuring the hit single “Buy You A Drank.” - Source

Nine-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys returns with her long-awaited third studio album, As I Am, set for a worldwide release on November 13 on J Records. Within 10 hours of being serviced to radio, Alicia first single, “No One,” became one of the fastest moving and highest charting single on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. This also marks the highest first single debut for a female artist in 2007 on the R&B Monitor’s Urban Mainstream chart!

Ok, I’m sure you all know that Kelis has been dropped from Jive Records. I was debating whether I wanted to post this or not. As you all know, I’m a huge supporter of Kelis. Why? Because, she’s an artist, scratch that…she’s a STAR. Anyway, I love Jive Records and I guess Kelis didn’t fit their label mold. Kelis people have released a statement stating she’ll probably end up going to a Indie label. Hopefully, they can see that Kelis does have a audience. Meanwhile, if you’d like more info about this - check out this post by - MIKE@THINK2WICE.ORG
Katie co-stars along with Diana Keaton and Queen Latifah. They play women who work at the Federal Reserve plot and decide to rob it. Queen Latifah has already done something like this in her past as Cleo the bad ass we all fell in love with in, “Set It Off.”

JLo’s record label, Epic, is reportedly looking to dump her. JLo’s latest album “Brave” failed to spark. It only sold around 53,000 copies in its first week. That’s not the reason why they want to part ways with Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer Lopez video alone cost $300,000. Brave, cover cost was over $60,000. The label only makes about 4 dollars per CD. Jennifer Lopez pretty much walks away with a deal and the label breaks with nothing. J.Lo’s make up artist runs the company 8 grand a day.
The source said, “Sony and Epic might keep her, but she’ll be doing little more than greatest hits albums. That you can do without incurring a huge cost. The label is tired of throwing money away.”
