Nicki Minaj Massive Attack Music Video Too Sexy?
Nicki Minaj Massive Attack Music Video Too Sexy? – Female rap phenom Nicki Minaj has released her highly-anticipated first single “Massive Attack,” ft. Sean Garrett off her upcoming untitled debut album.
The track, which was produced by Alex Da Kid, began to circulate online Monday, March 29 with a music video expected to follow later this week. But the provocative video is already the center of controversy before its premiere. The Young Money starlet recently sounded off on her Twitter page about a certain television network for refusing to play “Massive Attack,” which features a cameo appearance from Amber Rose.
In her Twitter rant, the self-proclaimed Barbie wrote:
“How far would you go to stand up for your own creative expression? Is it ok to show drugs, violence & nudity in MOVIES and NOT MUSIC videos? Aren’t they both creative interpretations? Is it ok for a slender model to wear a bikini but not ok for a curvy woman to wear a bikini on the same network? What’s the more important question? Who makes the rules? Or Who follows them?” she vented.
“So there’s someone sitting behind a desk that hand picks which woman’s body is too sexy to be seen on the network? What’s more influential in 2010? Cable TV or Internet? More often do you find yourself watching your new favorite video on cable TV or the internet?” she continued. “You guys have been very helpful in my decision making process. Thank you!”
Still photos from the Hype Williams directed “Massive Attack” video shoot have been posted online via Amber Rose’s official fan-site, www.amber-rose.org, which shows Nicki and Amber driving along a deserted desert road in a pastel pink Lamborghini, donning blonde tresses, dressed in bikini-style bottoms with stiletto boots. It’s said that the video also features Cash Money’s CEO Birdman, while Sean Garrett can be heard on the audio version.
It’s still unclear what network Minaj has beef with, but it seems rumors were floating around the web that BET had banned “Massive Attack,” prohibiting it from being shown on the networks’ highly-rated countdown show 106 & Park.
But a tweet via MTV’s official Twitter page, presumably following Minaj’s and her fans perturbed tweets, read: “Nicki Minaj’s Massive Attack video is premiering on BET’s 106 & Park this week. No ban! Are we friends again?”
Tune in to BET’s 106 & Park Wednesday to see if it goes down.
