M.I.A. Spits On Photographer in NYC – Singer MIA is not really known for her manners regarding the media. She was in the United States headline the NYC festival on Governor’s Island on Saturday, when she got into a confrontation with a number of members from the media.

She reportedly bombed on stage, and was being booed when she cut her performance off early. On her way out of the venue, she spit in the face of a photographer.

The opening acts were from her label and included Sleigh Bells, Die Antwoord and Rye Rye. They were hand picked by her, but gave much better performances than her by all accounts. In Sunday, she received a terrible review in the New York Times for her performance, and she lashed out at the paper.

MIA said that the problem was not that she gave a poor performance, but rather that her sound team made her sound horrible.

“Money doesnt buy u shit! i thought more money means better sound guys in america/\/\/\! i was wrong, the higher u go , they turn u lower,” she Tweeted following the performance.

She continued to take shots at the sound team, saying that she would be reverting back to a British sound team that knew how to adhere to her sound.
