Janet Jackson On American Idol – For the last few seasons the country has watched as American Idol became the most popular reality series on the planet. With the show’s biggest star, Simon Cowell, leaving to pursue other opportunities, it has not been clear who will be replaced with. The finale last night included a number of big name stars to see Cowell off into the sunset, including Christina Aguilera, Bret Michaels, General Larry, and William Hung. Janet Jackson also has made an appearance on American previously, and was featured in the finale episode that took place last night.

Some viewers had a hard time recognizing Janet Jackson who is a few years older than most remembered her to be. She was also sporting a short, slick haircut. The past contestants started to sing on stage at the end of the episode, and were joined on stage by Jackson. She was obviously the stand out singer in the bunch and sang much louder than everyone else on stage. Thankfully, Jackson did not rip off any articles of clothing like she had done the previous time that she was featured on stage during the Super Bowl.

A number of heavy hitters in the music industry were also present, including Alice Cooper, Chicago, and Alanis morissette. The Bee Gees also joined on stage, and made for one of the most hyped up finale’s that the series has ever seen in their prolific run. By all accounts, the finale was a huge success and attracted a huge viewership for the send off party of Simon Cowell, who helped to create the show.

Simon Cowell may not be coming back next season, and viewers still have no idea who will be replacing him. A recent rumor stated that they had offered the job to Sir Elton John, who turned it down saying that he was fine with his current schedule.
