Erykah Badu Window Seat Video – Erykah Badu made a guest appearance on the “Wendy Williams Show” earlier this week to perform her latest single “Window Seat.”
The eccentric singer was channeling her inner Rick James with a beaded-braid hairstyle, reminiscent of his Street Songs album cover, draped in an all black cleavage-baring dress set in red 4” inch pumps.

She premiered the official video for “Window Seat” on her website at 3:33 a.m. Saturday morning. In the opening of the video, Badu plays out the scene of JFK when he was assassinated, driving along the familiar path in a white limo, dressed in a black trench-style jacket with a purple hoodie underneath, and dark bubble-eye shades covering her face. In the lyrics, the controversial artist sings of a cruel world and industry that judges her being, attempts to change her ideals, and non- accepting of her true essence – thus, living in a society full of hate which assassinates ones character. An X in the middle of the street near the end of the mini-film marks the spot where JFK was shot. It wraps with a naked Badu, sprawled across the concrete pavement after being struck in the temple as blue writings, which reads “Groupthink,” spew from her head like blood – representing a certain vulnerability of being stripped to the core.

Badu has been heavily engaged in Twitter, interacting with her fans and followers since the “Window Seat” debut, encouraging dialogue about the meaning behind the song and video. She had this to say about how things went down on set during the making of the vid.
“I was petrified while shooting the video… but liberations began to set in. I conquered many fears in that few moments. I am grateful,” Badu tweeted. “Window Seat” was shot guerilla style, no crew, one take, no closed set, no warning… two minutes in downtown Dallas.”
Badu’s new album New Amerykah Part Two: Return of The Ankh hits stores on Tuesday, March 30, making it her fifth studio release.
