-Advertisements-Diggy Simmons on MTV Hottest Breakthrough MC’s of 2010 List – Diggy Simmons, whose father is Rev Run of Run DMC, is hoping to become a bona fide star in the music industry on his own. Toward the end of last year, he released a number of freestyles over popular beats including Drake’s “Over,” and Nas’ “Made You Look.”
Now, he has been named as one of the “Hottest Breakthrough MC’s of 2010.” He said that he was surprised, and so were a number of fans who have not even heard an original song from the young rapper yet, just random freestyles that was released online.

“I was excited that I was even put in there. But I didn’t necessarily think I would win, because I haven’t been grinding as long as some dudes. … But the fact that I’m top five is huge,” he said in a recent interview.
His first mixtape, titled “First Flight,” has received a lot of attention since it was released and was received well by critics and fans alike. It will be interesting to see where he takes his career in the future. As of now, he is working on a sequel to his first mixtape that will be titled “Airborne,” which he said will be released shortly.
He has already signed a deal with Atlantic Records and is hard at work on his debut album that is supposedly going to be released sometime next year.
