ALBUM REVIEW: Rihanna

Rihanna - A Good Girl Gone Bad - Rihanna will be taking over this summer. I’ve always been rooting for Rihanna since her debut, “Music Of The Sun.” This album approach is necessary for this summer. Rihanna album has something for everyone from pop, dance, alternative, r&b etc. Rihanna’s producers even sampled from popular club dance tracks. The album opens with Jay-Z taking shield under Rihanna’s, “Umbrella.⠝ Then the album explodes in your face like pop rock candy. With fun dance tracks such as, “Push Up On Me,” “Don’t Stop The Music,” “Sell Me Candy,” and “Let Me Get That.” Rihanna puts down that good girl façade on, “Breakin†Dishes,”as she goes off! For a more alternative approach check out, “Shut Up And Drive,” and “Good Girl Gone Bad.” Rihanna slows it down towards the end of the album with tracks like, “Say It,” “Rehab,” “Hate That I Love You,” and “Question Existing.” The album is solid. I like it. Purchase Album.

Well, it looks like Cassie will be dropping Oct 3, 2007. Ryan Leslie is slated for later summer early fall. I’m excited for Ryan Leslie’s project….and now for the tracks.
  • LISTEN: Cassie - Sometimes - Produced & Written By Ryan Leslie. I think this is a cool track. Not sure if it’s a solid enough single for her new album. I think the chorus is addictive.
  • LISTEN: Ryan Leslie - Rock U - Produced & Written By Himself. LOL, I think Ryan Leslie is incredible and the man can do no wrong in my book. I’m excited for his new project.

what do you all think?

Common 2 New Tracks

Common has the highest expectations set especially after the classic, “Be.” After listening to, “Misunderstood  ,” and “Black Maybe,” he is defiantly going to come close. The production for “Misunderstood  ,” was done by Devo Springsteen. Devo laced up with the sickest sample and the production is flawless. “Black Maybe,” was produced by none other then Kanye West and features Bilal. I’m hoping for nothing but the best and expecting nothing but the best with this project. Lyrically, Common content has always been satisfying. Tell me what you think?

Jacki-O looks bad. I’m not talking in a good way either. Check out her new track from her mixtape.  This track is silly.

This is just another prime example of why we need more images in the media of African American men. Beanie Sigel wants to marginalize Kanye West and Pharrell Williams as the “uncools,” or “homosexuals.” It’s ignorance. I blame our society and Beanie for having the audacity.  Kanye West has already talked about growing up in Chicago and being teased and called names. We’ve heard it already everyone knows. You all should watch the video and see how Beanie Sigel struggles to talk about them…LOL, kind of funny.
