A Philadelphia man has hit Jay-Z and Damon Dash with a $15 million lawsuit claming that Roc-A-Fella stole the concept for the “State Property” movie from his novel. Antonne Jones filed the lawsuit earlier this month in Manhattan Federal Court alleging that “State Property” was based on his novel “The Family: A Philadelphia Mob Story” and was used without his permission. Jones claims he met with Jay-Z and Damon Dash in 1998 and offered to sell the movie rights to his book for $500,000. The pair countered with an offer of only $50,000 which Jones claims to have rejected. source

According to a recent interview with group member Malice, Clipse have left JIVE Records and are now free agents. In an interview conducted with Toronto publication Eye Weekly Malice said:
“Right now Clipse are free agents. There are a few labels that are interested.”
JIVE has yet to confirm these claims however the troubles between the duo (Pusha T and Malice) and their label are well documented. In a 2006 interview group member Pusha T said:
“I hate Jive with all my heart and all the passion in my soul.â€
Clipse most recent album “Hell Hath No Fury” was released in 2006 after many delays to huge critical acclaim but lackluster sales. SOURCE

Singer Kelly Rowland wants to track down the alcoholic and abusive father who drove her and her mother from their family home 19 years ago. Rowland was just seven when she and mum Doris fled after being subjected to years of drunken abuse. But the former Destiny’s Child singer is ready to reach out and make contact - and she is praying he isn’t dead.
Rowland, 26, says, “Meeting my dad again is something I’ve been thinking about recently.
“I don’t know where he is but I hope he’s not dead. That would break my heart. I remember my dad being drunk and aggressive towards my mom but not me. It took courage for her to get away.
“I don’t know if he knows who I am or what I’ve done. He must be hiding under a rock if he doesn’t.”
Despite mellowing towards her dad - Rowland insists she has learned an important lesson from her childhood: “I’m not afraid of alcohol but I wouldn’t choose a man who indulges in it. I wouldn’t want any kids I have to go through what I did.”

– Amerie – Because, I Love It! – Amerie’s new album is fun. It’s such a easy listening album. The obvious influence for Amerie’s, “Because, I Love It,†is the 80’s pop sound. Bringing to life her dream was her incredible production. This time around Amerie was bright with the producers she hand selected such as The Inkredibles, Curtis Richardson, One Up, The Buchanans, Cee-Lo, Mike Caren, Chris & Drop, B.M. Cox, Bink!, Ron Browz, Quran Goodman, Destro, Kore & Scalp, Johnny Douglas, Se7en, Makeda Davis, and The Clutch. The production is probably the best thing about the album. Every beat is perfection. The 80’s pop tracks are, “Hate2LoveU,â € “Some Like It,†“Make Me Believe,†“Take Control,†“Gotta Work,†and “Crazy Wonderful.†Amerie didn’t forget about her ballad lovers and r&b folks with tracks like, “Paint Me Over,†“Somebody Up There,†“That’s What U R,†“When Loving You Was Easy,†and “All Roads,†you can’t go wrong. I think the album is beyond enjoyable defiantly a pop sensation. Purchase Album.

– Tank – Sex, Love and Pain – After a 5-year hiatus Tank is back and is ready to bring the heat. I must admit this album has a lot more potentional to sale and shows a lot of growth. I’m even more thrilled to hear the track he did with Kelly Rowland for her project, “Ms. Kelly.†He’s back and in full effect. The album opens up with a skit, which is intervened with his first track titled, “Coldest.†My personal favorite standout tracks are, “I’m Coming Home,” “Please Don’t Go,†“I Hate U,†“When,†and “My Heart.†The album could’ve had better promotion. Overall, Tank delivers a good album for the grown & sexy. Purchase Album.
