You have already heard about Sony’s new whiye PSP series ad. The advert, which has appeared on billboards in the Netherlands, shows a white woman gripping a black woman by the jaw and features the slogan: “PlayStation Portable White is coming.” Many websites and forum posters have protested that the advert is racist and are campaigning for its removal.

A Sony spokesperson stated that the ad wasn’t published because of racist issues but to mention color difference of the old PSP and the new one:

“The marketing campaign for the launch of the White PSP in the Benelux focuses on the contrast between the Black PSP model and the new Ceramic white PSP model.”

Today, earlier hours of the day, Lil’ Kim released from Philadelphia Prison. Although I’m not a Kim fan, happy to see her free. Looks like she gained some weight while she was inside.

The rapper, who served nearly 10 months for lying about a shootout outside a New York radio station, walked out of the jail looking glamorous in sunglasses and an all-white, cleavage-baring outfit. Carrying a balloon and a bouquet of white roses, she waved to dozens of cheering onlookers — some carrying signs that said, “Welcome Home, Queen Bee” — before getting into a silver Rolls Royce. One of the world’s largest music festivals is in Denmark right now, with 160 acts scheduled to perform at the four-day Roskilde Festival. Headline performances included Guns N’ Roses, Sigur Ros and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on the opening day. Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Morrissey and The Strokes are also part of the line-up and Kanye West was the one holding the third day (July 1st).
