Kanye West has signed on to appear in and executive produce a film that is inspired by his own music. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the still-untitled movie will be pieced together as a “multiperspective portrait of the United States as seen through the eyes of West and several filmmakers.” Six writers and 10-12 directors will create short stories that will be linked by a central story, with new and previously released music from West appearing throughout the scenes.

The movie will be executive produced by George C. Wolfe, who directed HBO’s Emmy-winning “Lackawanna Blues.” “This project will synthesize Kanye’s vision with a fantastic group of filmmakers and create what will be a one-of-a-kind film experience,” one of the film’s producers, Richard Brown, told the Reporter. It has not yet been determined what West’s role in the film will be.

Kanye West has been added to the lineup for this weekend`s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., bestowing further star power on an event that will also boast the first-ever festival appearance by Madonna as well as sets from Depeche Mode, Tool, Franz Ferdinand, Daft Punk and Massive Attack. West will perform Saturday (April 30) on the main outdoor stage directly after fellow rapper Common, whose 2005 album, ‘Be,’ he produced and released on his own G.O.O.D. Music label.

West will return to southern California the following weekend to appear at KIIS-FM`s annual Wango Tango concert in Los Angeles. Coachella organizers have also revealed the set times and stage breakdowns for this year’s show. Madonna will perform just after 8 p.m. Sunday in the dance-dominated Sahara Tent, and no act is scheduled opposite her on the main outdoor stage at that time.

In what is starting to become a trend, 50 Cent has once again said some hypocritical junk that borders on clinical insanity to the press. According to Sohh.com, 50 made an appearance on New York’s Hot 97 morning show and told Miss Jones:

“They like Kanye West ’cause he’s a safe ni**a. It’s better for your kid to wanna dress weird and just have a whole other vibe. He said something in an interview one time that made me think about it. He said ’cause he was raised by his mother, he has feminine ways. That right there is who Kanye West is to me. That statement is stuck in my head. He said it like he meant it.”

Now let’s get one thing straight, Fiddy, since we’re talking about “safe” here. “Safe” is dissing Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Gangstalicious or any other so-called mic wielding thugster in the game. “Safe” is not poppin sh– with the Goddamn President of the United States (and I quote, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people”.). Kanye West is helping out Common on his forthcoming album, “Finding Forever.” MTV.com reports that Kanye is handling production duties on Common’s follow-up to “Be,” which Kanye also produced.

And how’s the project going so far?Judging by what Kanye had to say, pretty well. The Chicago rapper is already predicting Common will win next year’s Grammy for Best Rap Album.

“You will be happy with Finding Forever,” Kanye promised, adding “I’m just excited. I want to scream it from the top of the mountaintop.” Common’s “Finding Forever” CD is scheduled for release in September and will feature a song called “The Glory” as the first single.

Brooke Crittendon -Kanye’s current girlfriend- went on the defense not only for her man but for herself composing a rant on her Myspace profile. Brooke wrote:
