Da Brat Out of Prison – Rapper Da Brat was released from prison yesterday after spending nearly three years behind bars. She was released early from prison due to good behavior. The atlanta rap artist, who is currently out on the work release program recently showed up in a video for Jermaine Dupri’s latest web show entitled “Living the life.”
“Guess whose back in the mother***king house,” she said when she was featured at the beginning of the video. She then went on to explain how she was able to get out early on her work release program. During her time on the screen she thanked her fans for all of the support and letters in the three years that she was locked away. Da Brat is now 36 years old and looks a little bit different than she did in her glory days. She said that when she was officially able to go out and work on her own she wanted to get into a number of different ventures including returning to music, developing movies, and creating TV shows.
“Anything I can get my hands on,” Da Brat said.

She had plead guilty to felony aggravated assault charges after she attacked Shayla Stevens at an Atlanta nightclub that was owned by Dupri. The nightclub was called Studio 72. For her role in the incident, she was sentenced to three years behind bars, followed by seven years of probation and 200 hours of community service. She reportedly hit the woman in the face with a liquor bottle, causing a deep open wound in her face. She filed a civil suit against Da Brat later, claiming that Dupri had done nothing to defuse the situation in his own nightclub.
