Chris Brown Crying:BET Awards 2010 – Chris Brown gave a hell of a performance at the BET Awards last night. Footage from the event suggests that he sobbed away during the ending to his “Man in The Mirror” performance. Things appeared to be crumbling down and falling apart for Chris Brown, perhaps in relation to his convicted crimes against Rihanna when he brutally beat her. He’s faced 5 years of probation and 180 days of community service, certainly enough time to recount on the things he’s done wrong and the troubles he’s faced. However, at the BET Awards we saw something new from Chris Brown. His performance suggests that he was unexpectedly overtaken with legitimate sorrow for what he had done as well as the loss of Michael Jackson. However, some people are saying that it was probably a fake, the entire performance was staged in order for fans to relate to Chris and forgive him for the things he’s done. Everyone knows that his albums and sales are suffering, he has to do something in order to rebuild his career.

Still, it’s possible that his on-stage breakdown where he cried out the end to his performance could have been a real, grief filled outbreak from Chris. The BET Awards was the first real music performance that Chris has done in a very long time. He was considered for the award show because he has been respected in the music industry as a prodigy of Michael Jackson. He can dance similar to Michael, he can sing but does he have the same character as Michael Jackson? Chris probably saw his performance as his last chance to show the world he wants this and he needs it. Is it possible that the situation really grabbed him and overwhelmed him during his performance?

Nice job chris! U can now be a better man.

      • Rochelle says:

I just want to say it was a good performance. People try to downgrade him because of the Rihanna incident when I feel the both were to blame. No one is throwing stones at her though just him. Why ? Is it because he’s a man? Well little girls hands hurt too. People need to stop the bull and quit criticzing the man. He’s good at what he does. Face it. People need to focus more on their lives than trying to downgrade others. Good job Chris and keep on doing what you do. Rihanna as well she has talent and I like her too. They have moved on with their lives people let the drama stuff die. This world of living is too short too keep reminising on facts no one but the two really know about. May YAH bless the both of you. Keep the music coming.

        • leslie says:

          you are so right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • smurf says:

I totally agree with you on that. Some people need to just worry about thier lives because nobody is perfect. I think Chris Brown did an outstanding job and i think they picked the perfect person to do the job. Just because you ride around in a Lambo doesnt make you any different than a nigga in a coop because we all make mistakes and women get beat on everyday. Where im from women get beat, raped, missing and killed. so keep ya head up Chris Brown because you’re not the first or the last to be involved in a domestic violence situation. DO YO THANG BOO!!!!

    2. E.McMillian-Haymon says:

Wow!!! Im just going to say it like this….. Those without sin cast the first stone….Any takers?? Yeah thats what i thought…. STFU and give respect where respect is due. I myself, like Chris, miss michael Jackson. His passing was not just any passing but it represented the death of, not just mine, but our parents childhood. He is the foundation of all things that music is TODAY… Not just an artist but a humanitarian who had been judged without trial, treated with disrespect without PROOF, and had the very ones who claimed to love him simply turn THEIR BACK…..Without so much as a batt of a lash.. In my opinion, Chris missed the man that he idolized and at the same time realized that he could relate to him n that moment, wrapped in THOSE words, more so then he may have wanted….I say bravo CHRIS… Pay homage and respect to MJ..lord knows when he was alive none of us did as we should have……

    3. Houston's Finest says:

Chris did an excellent job, his performance was geniune. I think everyone deserves a second chance. He’s ready for a comeback!

    4. krystal says:

Chris brown was really choked up and couldn’t sing. Anybody and everybody have been through that. I believe that he did an amazing job and it was a wonderful was to come back. Yes many people will call him gay and that he’s fake but there just hating because that’s how people are. Yes, what he did to Rihanna was very wrong but you move on.

    5. iCHRiSBROWNFAN says:

The Assumptions Of How Chris Brown Actually Felt Does Not Help The Fact. Okay We All Know He Cried But People SHOULDN’T ASSUME That He Was Just Trying 2 Get His Fans Back! Just Because Of The Incident That Took Place Last Year Changed His Career Totally Doesnt Mean You Can’t Not Like Him Anymore. You Aren’t Supposed 2 Put Your Hands On a Woman But, Life Goes On & He Has Served His Time For His Actions. PLEASE! STOP THE ASSUMPTIONS! IT DOESN’T HELP ANYTHING AT ALL!

      • Veronica says:

Yes, I feel he did a really good job. What ahppen in the past they need to let go cuz their r two size to every story an if she would have hit menin the face I wouldnhave beat her to. I do not believe in man hitting women but, she did not have to hit him either. I am so glad he has move on an left hat TRAMP where she is at an I wish the best for CHRIS BROWN. An JAY Z was wrong for even biding in on that but, as rumor mill he was sleeping with RIHANNA so, he will be alright to. GOOD LUCK CHRIS an KEEP ur heard up.

    6. Michelle Green says:

Chris you did an awesome job!!! Let it be what it was “A heartfelt tribute to the late Michael Jackson” Looking at the pictures and what Michael meant to Chris and his career. Why does it have to be anything but that…?

      Always with LOVE Chris….

      Michelle, Daughter & Son !!

    7. Lola says:

Please stop being so judgemental and trying to critique every movement a person makes. Only God and that person really knows how Chris was feeling. It seems that the world has thrown so many stones because they live in this perfect world were they have never made a mistake and have asked for forgiveness. Some have never asked for forgiveness and continue to treat people very badly. Please stop trying to second guess everything a person does and try to think for them. Look into your closet and in your corners I bet there are things in there that you have done far worse than what Chris has done. He has asked for forgiveness and and has forgiven himself so now it is time to move on. I have so much love and respect for Chris to appear on the BET Show last night knowing what you simple minded people where thinking. Please give it a break

    8. vintage1 says:

      FAKE F*CK

      • Jules says:

God does not judge US until we are dead so who are WE to judge?
Chris, you keep on keepin’ on and you know what’s in your heart and that is all that matters!
Excellent tribute to an excellent entertainer!

      • RealTalk says:

Wow hope when you fuck up no one lets you forget it an the people around will make suffer for the rest of you life just wait forgivness is earned not given and he earned mine a long time ago #TEAMBREEZY

    9. Lynette says:

Leave him alone. I am in my 30′s and all people make mistakes. Just leave the poor man alone! Forgive and forget! Our society is full of everyone else’s drama. We all have enough of our own, let him be. He is talented and a great artist! Let him move on and so should you!

    10. Danita says:

I really think it was a combination of both! Chris has been through a lot this past year and his performance suggest that he has done a lot of soul searching! He was indeed a prodigy and Michaels death was a shock to all who have grown up with him being a true fixture in the music industry! When I sit back and reflect on the things that have gone in my life, I also feel moved to show emotion at inopportune times!! And I’m not famous! Chris has done his time and people need to move on! Chris is being reminded of what he did on a daily basis! Because he is famous! He is also grieving his career! LEAVE CHRIS ALONE!!

    11. carolyn says:

I think that song touch him. I really believe it made him think and I don’t think it was an act. People can change and that song will make you think.

    12. Norbert Nolan says:

no. This was an act. But, still, I think people should give the guy a break. He apologized, he spoke to Rhianna, and like Michael Jackson he is still a good musician, despite the negative press he recieved for his behavior. Dude should just retire and enjoy life, I think everyone is still butthurt over what he did.

    13. Blackwidow says:

Im so happy Chris was considered to do the tribute and was given the chance to do so. He blew me away and when i knew it was him up on that stage i got up from my couch and screamed with joy! I said, “finally his chance @ a comeback!” I totally agree with what everyone on here is saying…. I too am with the majority (on here @ least), and think that Chris was sincere in his heartfelt cries; for the loss of his idol and for all that he’s been through. In relation to his idol in such a introspective and innovative song, I trust and i mean trust, that his cries were as sincere as the next persons… What, because he beat up his girlfriend a year ago, does that make him unable to feel or love?? He is just like the next person who makes mistakes and then learns and grows from them. This past year has been hard, (im sure). Without a doubt, Chris wants to make a comeback and get back the career that he lost, who wouldn’t? He does music! But with that being said, anyway you look at it would mean his performance was heartfelt, he has a passion and he has a heart and anything thats not growing is dead, and Chris has shown us that he is very much alive! LOVE ME SOME CHRIS BROWN… YOU GO BOY!!!

    14. Cathy Larissa says:

It was real we were there… Shame on the media for saying otherwise. One of the most emotional preformance I have ever seen.

    15. tamara says:

      that was atribute.
those tears were genuine not fake at all.stop looking in the past, chris is a very talented person and wanted to pay tribute to the man who inspired him to do wat he do.
      best performance of that night.

    16. fakingit says:

Come on people. He beat the hell out of a defenseless woman. Wake up. Don’t buy into this.

I wish there was a tape of beating Rhianna senseless with her crying. Now that was the genuine Chris Brown.

      • MAL says:

While I believe it was wrong for Chris to have inflicted injury on this woman, they are both young adults and have a lot to learn from their experiences as they continue to grow and as life has shown us, not all our daily experiences are positive ones. We are all humans and are not perfect, Chris has and is still paying the price for what he has done including the fact that he was brought before the court of law. But that cannot take away the obvious he is an excellent performer who idolises MJ and he does it very well. No one knows what Rihanna has done to him, she is no angel, just remember there are some real bitches out there and she may very well be one of them and I am inclined to think so. Forgive and forget, Jesus has forgiven us of our sins. Persons have also attempted to destroy MJ with their lies etc. Chriss Brown can sing and he is talented he knows how to give a great show and in my opinion that does not apply to Rihanna.
Chris Brown’s performance was extremely genuine, after all he is only human, no matter what transired in the past. So get the hell off his back.

      • RealTalk says:

When you f ck up hope someone never lets you forget it and condems you for the rest of your life

    17. Banks says:

all I can say is wow man Chris u done that bro I cryied along with u watchin u do michael’s songs man it hit home good job!!!!
      Rufus Banks
      Dallas,Texas

    18. Annette Spaulding says:

I believe that he was very touched about the death of Michael Jackson. We all makes mistakes in life because we are not perfect. Leave Chris alone he is not the firist man that made a mistake with a woman and will definitely not be the last one. The man is great and I felt his pain and sorrow. Stop critizing others for the mistakes that they may have made in life because we all fall short of the glory of God. God know his pain and sorrow so how can we as people judge someone elses mistakes and not our own mistakes that we all have made in our lives.

    19. Channie says:

I think what people haven’t discussed yet is how powerful “Man in the Mirror” is. It’s about making a change, having a moral responsibility to look within yourself as a man and his role in the world, and the only way to make a difference is to change your inner self. What a powerful message, particularly for Chris who has gone through a lot these past few years. From being the music industry’s golden child to…well you know. I think the words itself was enough to choke up over. Bear in mind that the song is kind of demanding almost (“take a look at yourself and make a change.”) Now top that with MJ’s passing (RIP), Chris’s career, and just what Chris has to deal with as a young man dealing with his mistakes in the public eye. I think the lyrics shouldn’t be overlooked here and if you watch Michael performing this song, he delivers it with intense emotion. Anyway, enough of my ethereal ramblings. As a person who was definitely agains Chris Brown for a while, I think I may be ready to forgive. But I haven’t seen the video yet (LOL). So that’ll be the deciding factor.

    20. jeanette says:

I watched the award show with my 14 year old daughter, and was in tears at the beginning when Chris started to danced only because it was for Michael Jackson. I am no celebrity, just a working mother of two daughters and Michael Jackson music has always touched me, his videos have always moved me, so I ask this question, “Why can’t someone who sings, dances and does movies and probably thought as a kid I want to be like Michael Jackson and who happens to be a celebrity like Michael not be touched emotionally by performing a tribute to him on the 1 year anniversary of his death? I bet he could have been thinking how great it would be to perform this under different circumstances( that being Michael still alive) to see his mentor appreciate what a wonderful tribute that was.

Lets just not put more on it than what it was
      Cudos to you Chris Brown.
      RIP Michael Jackson

    21. Kitty says:

I know that Chris really wanted to honor Michael when he died. He was shut out, unfairly, and not allow to pay homage to his idol. You can tell by the performance, that he gave his absolute best, and it turned out to be a spectacular performance. The tears were real, the pain that he felt from being shut out of honoring him upon his death is real. So sad that forgiveness is not a part of everyday life, it’s sad when people pay more attention to a scuffle between kids, than that do to their next door neighbor who beats his wife regularly. Or fights between men and women in the street, strange that people wont say one word when they are standing two feet away from a REAL fight, but can condemn this young man for a this tiff that left not even the smallest scar. If people would react like this in REAL life against domestic violence, hundreds of thousands of women would STILL BE ALIVE today. Think about what you say before you SAY IT! You are dishonoring every woman that was ignored by her family, friends and neighbors and died at the hands of a truly violent man.

      • Linda says:

I’m in total agreement with you Kitty except any time a woman is abused, I don’t consider it to be a little tiff and whether a large or small tiff, it does leave scars maybe not always physical scars but we have to think about the mental scars as well. I don’t condone what Chris did, and Rhianna probably did provoke him:) but he does deserve a second chance. His performance was truly awesome and his break down I feel was sincere.

    22. treshon says:

It was staged. Chirs has been hurt in the pocket with his record sales and his popularity in Europe. He was just banned. BET loves to honor their fallen idols. Chris should be forgiven for what he did and he is an excellent talent but don’t expect me to be gullable. I know the business well enough to know that he was told to cry and do what ever cause this can be a deal breaker. So it brought it. Anyway although it was fake I am sure in his mind he was being as sincere as he possibly can be. JUST KEEP YOUR DAMN HANDS TO YOURSELF.

    23. Karina says:

Who cares why he was crying, it’s obvious he was overcome with emotion and is human. People are so judgemental but they forget that we have all been 19, I’m not saying what he did to Rihanna is okay, but he has one thing going for him, his age. We have all done things when we were young, that when we look back we think, wow, I can’t believe I did that and we realize how immature we might have been. They were also drinking that night, there is a reason you have to be 21 to drink. I think he did a great Job performing and he is very talented and I really think he experienced abuse towards his mom and no child should ever be a witness to that. Who knows what that did to his brain, but one thing is for sure, God is trying to make him a better man (reverse anything he may have seen as a child) and he’s had to pay for it in the worst way possible, In front of the World. I really think people can change if they are young when they do something and I’m sure he will, He’s still growing as a person, anyone that age is.

    24. miss b says:

I think chris did an amazing job and the media shall leave him alone. We all made mistakes in our lives before. It is such a shame how people are going on about this rihanna thing. No I don’t think it was right, but at the same time we all deserve a second chance. So go chris!

    25. Aj says:

kudos to chris for an awesome performance, and id just like to say that if you watched this tribute and doubt the sincerity of it, then u are not human, This was not fake or plannned, those were raw emotions. I think everyone deserves a second chance,he made a big mistake, yes, but how long must he be punished?

    26. jazzzyjo says:

In spite of losing Michael, we are still willing to judge and try a person. The same torment the public, media put Michael through is what Chris is experiencing. His tears are real, the events between him and Rihanna still not fully known by the public. That frankenmonster attacked him first, we assume she couldn’t harm him. Attack a tall young man seatbelted in a tight sportcar w/long barbadian nails clawing his neck, You might knock the hell out of her to get free. His response unfortunate, but necessary. Why he didn’t press domestic violence charges No one was listening, she stated, “we were both wrong”. Tribute to Michael Jackson, also a very innocent man who refused to let society dictate to him how he saw and related to children. We are a very sick society these days. Have we all gone so mad that no one can be trusted? Why can’t anyone see it was all about money. My hat is off to you cousin (Chris), I also cried this week for Michael J.

    27. Chris says:

He did amazing i dont know who could have did better. the only thing that wasnt his best move was the moonwalk he did do it that good, nobody cant do it smooth as Michael anyway. but he did Great. I think the reason why he started crying was because his own problems he’s going through and the death of Michael and singing Man In The Mirror just got to him. I know i would have cried too. “Make That Change”

    28. Paolo says:

      sorry, didn’t buy it.

      Shoulda cried harder

    29. chris i forgive u says:

Chris you did a great a job!!!!!!! No matter what happened with you and ree ree all respect to you. this was an overdue performance. People that hate cant forgive they selves for they mistakes. He is a young a man and deserve to have mistakes to learn from them. Some never do but who am I to judge the real judges that are in court let rapist walk the street with my kids. So I will leave to the only judge there is and no one higher than him “GOD” and I am pretty sure he forgave him. He forgave ya A** for what you did last night…Good Job Chris

    30. mims says:

for as long as i can remember, i have been a michael jackson fan. i was one of those kids that watched his videos over and over again, but never developed any dancing skills, lol. a year after his death and i can still cry at a drop of a dime thinking about him. channie wrapped it up best when it comes to this performance. man in the mirror is a very heart felt song, and hypothetically speaking if christopher planned to tear up a bit to bring his performance home, his emotions got the best of him. from the message of the song, how the crowd was responding to his standing-ovation-worthy dancing, performing a year after his idol’s death, and then his own mistakes that have made him take a look at the man of the mirror…do you really think that man had a chance at holding it together? that is a lot to take in and digest. i am happy that he got the chance to pay respects to mj. i am sure it hurt him not being able to perform at his memorial service. this was a chance he needed, not for his career, but closure. i love michael jackson for so many reasons, but chris’ career foundation starts with michael. his performance brought me to tears, but made my heart smile. job well done.

    31. SHANEA says:

CHRIS DID AN EMMACULANT JOB. I AM ONE OF HIS FANS THAT NEVER LEFT AND I AM A WOMAN. I FEEL THAT HE WAS PUNISHED ENOUGH BY THE JUSTICE SYSTEM AND WHO NARE WE AS THE PUBLIC TO CONDEM THIS MAN. HE WAS IN A RELATIONSHIP THAT WAS GONNA EITHER FLOAT OR SINK. HE ALSO LIVES HIS LIFE IN THE EYE OF THE PUBLIC. WE AS THE PUBLIC LIVE OUR LIVES IN THE PRIVACY OF OUR OWN HOMES AND I THINK HE IS TRUELY SORRY FOR WHAT HAPPENED IS RHIANNA? IF YOU READ THE COMMENTS POSTED BY HER TRINIDADIAN PEOPLE THEY CONFESSED THAT RHIANNA WAS TROUBLE IN HER YOUNGER DAYS AND AS AN ARTIST I THINK THAT SHE IS TALENTED BUT THAT DOES NOT EXCUSE HER PART IN THIS WHOLE SITUATION. SHE KNEW SHE WAS DATING A HANDSOME RICH YOUNG MAN WHY WOULDN’T HE BE INTERESTED IN SOMEONE ELSE? HE IS A MAN AND IT HAPPENS THAT DOES NOT GIVE HER THE RIGHT TO HIT HIM AND HE STRUCK BACK. IT IS TIME FOR HIM TO SHOW AND PROVE THAT HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SHUNNED HE IS THE BEST AT WHAT HE DOES. THAT IS WHY HE WAS SO BIG IN THE FIRST PLACE. KEEP IT UP CHRIS……………….

    32. mona from Nigeria says:

Hi Chris, am touched & speechless, even though I didn’t support what u did to Rihanna. No matter want went wrong that night,it is unacceptable for a man to hit a woman,it touched my heart so much when that incident took place,am a woman & has gone through that once & it reminded me so much of what I passed through in the hands of the man I loved so much, who claimed to love me too, endlessly. It always happen to nice women who love their partners genuinely. Men don’t hit tough, mean women, they don’t dare, they only hit the soft and very emotional ones. Rihanna could look tough and strong but I bet you,if you investigate thoroughly, you will find out that she is soft and very emotional. Even if she hit him first or started the fight,it could have been out of love, which bred jealousy, which wasn’t harm intended and you can compare the strength of a man to that of a woman. Till now,I still feel hurt because of what happened between them, because it always remind me of my past experience but I will still appeal to the media and all concerned to forgive Chris because no one is perfect,if truly he has changed, then he should be given a chance for his career’s sake, to save his talent from dying, most especially now that Rihanna has moved on. (don’t know about the genuineness of Chris moving on) my take now is that they(Chris & Rihanna) both have talent and should be left alone to build their career and lives.

    33. CISPET01 says:

I personally cannot believe what a judgemental country we have become. So many people are taking a down right honest tribute to a very well loved and missed artist into their own judgemental assumptions. Is it not true that Rihanna and Chris both would like to forget that night and if could would love to change it? No One was there but the two of them. There for No One should have a say in what one is feeling, thinking or doing with their lives inless you live a perfect life and have absolutely no faults in your life.NOT! Chris Brown was a MJ fan way before Rihanna came into his life, so im pretty sure what he is feeling is HUMAN for him as a HUMAN to feel emotional when the one person whom you idolized since you were a child has passed away. YOU THINK? It’s not that hard to forgive. Try it. God says “thou shall forgive to be forgiven”. Once you bitter ones get over it and find forgiveness in your hearts you to shall be forgiven for passing judgement!!!!!

    34. keke says:

    35. MAL says:

CHRIS BROWN IS A GREAT SINGER AND EXCELLENT PERFORMER AND NO MATTER WHAT, NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT FROM HIM BECAUSE IT IS INBORN. FIRST OF ALL ANY TIME I HEAR “MAN IN THE MIRROR” or just by me singing it, I always get so teary in the eyes and to know that the great MJ has left us and to see Chris performing it, I am confident he was genuine. You people must learn to forgive, this is why the world is so hostile. And frankly speaking I am a Caribbean girl (PROUD JAMAICAN) and I really hate the way how the media always attempt to add fire to fury. Chris has been placed before the court for his wrongs and the court has made its ruling as it deemed appropriate in light of the circumstances. You will note that the court did not lock Chris away and throw away the key but instead with the sentence handed down, Chris is given a second chance, so who are we to judge. As a previous writer wrote, let he without sin casts the first stone. JUST LET HIM BE. IT’s THE SAME WAY THE PRESS DESTROYED MJ they only focused on the negative and not the positive, which fuelled MJ to make this song “LEAVE ME ALONE”. DESIST NOW PLEASEEEEEEEEEE! GET OFF CHRIS’S BACK and let his talent shine. Afterall RIHANNA IS NO DAMN ANGEL and furthermore she cannot perform, let alone sing.

      • CAROL says:

I AGREE WITH YOU SO MUCH , RIHANNA IS NO DAMN ANGEL, N EVERYONE DESEVERS A SECOND CHANCE, …. RIHANNA SEEMS TO BE FAIRING WELL . THIS COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO LIVED WITH A ABUSER, U DON’T REBOUND SO FAST FROM THIESE THINGS,,, NEWAY CHRIS DESERVES A CHANCE, HE NEVER REALLY HAD MANY ISSUES TILL THAT MISTAKE N HOPEFULLY HE HAS LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON

    36. char char says:

Breezy is the best.forgive and forget for the hard hearted one please

    37. Keisha says:

I think Chris was overwhelmed because he was finally given the chance to publicly pay tribute to his idol in front of his own peeps and that is probably something he never thought he would be able to do again. M.J. was the greatest and next to him comes Chris Brown. I say let the man entertain because he was blessed for that. WHEN NORMAL EVERYDAY PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES THEY APOLOGIZE AND THAT IS THE END OF THAT. CHRIS BROWN HAS APOLOGIZED OVER AND OVER! I SAY MOVE ON CHRIS AND GO BACK TO DOING WHAT YOU ARE EXCELLENT AT. NO ONE IN THE GAME CAN TOUCH YOU AND PEOPLE KNOW THAT.

    38. Tammy903 says:

Leave him alone enough is enough there is two sides to every story he has apologize over and over again how many times do he have to say he is sorry. Rihanna has move on selling thousand of records on all the media shows, ok let him move on he still have his life to live, what he suppose to rolll over and die everyone make mistakes (BOYS SHOULD NOT HIT GIRLS AND GIRLS SHOULD NOT HIT BOYS)

    39. BRANDII ALIZE' says:

Chris Brown did it!! He did it!! Chris is Back!! Like someone said. If the Pain doesn’t kill you, it makes you stronger. He’s said his apologies.. Let him live his life now. doing what he does best.. That’s singing, acting,,, dancing.. all of that. He did it.. Yes., He and only he can do a MJ. and he did it well. I was crying from when he started till he finished. Love you Chris!! Forever a fan ,,, of Team Breezy. He that is without sin let him cast the first stone,,. in other words Let’s Move On America!

    40. hitcreatormusic says:

The whole thing was staged to help Chris get back on top. Hate it or luv it. I’m just keeping it real. You people cant see that. You must be blind. w.youtube.com/hitcreatormusic

I THINK CHRIS BROWN DID A VERY GOOD JOB. WHEN I HEAR MAN IN THE MIRROR , IT MAKE TEAR COME DOWN MY FACE. IT WAS A MISTAKE WAT HE DID TO RHIANNA . BUT U HAVE TO LEARN TO FORGIVE . I LOVE CHRIS BROWN , HE MEANS THE WORLD TO ME. AND NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME.

      LOVE ALWAYS , MONITA R.
      I LOVE U CHRIS BROWN

    42. marisa says:

Are you all KIDDING me?! A tribute, my ass! If you can’t see through those fake little tears then i don’t even know..Yes, he may miss Michael but WHO FRIKIN DOESN’T. DO IT OFF CAMERA. HE’S JUST FOR SHOW TO GET FANS BACK. SHOWING TEARS FOR MICHAEL BUT NOT AFTER YOU BEAT RIHANNA? DON’T THINK SO CHRIS. I WOULD STOP TAKING THOSE ACTING CLASSES IF I WERE YOU CUZ THEY AINT WORKIN HUN.

    43. Akwat says:

This wasn’t fake. Whoever thinks that is an idiot that’s just finding something to bitch on. There is no way the excessiveness of the man’s crying and grief was “fake”. It wasn’t staged at all. It wasn’t fake at all.

    44. Pat B says:

I am 57 years old, and from experience can honestly say, Chris was hurting from what he has been through over the last year, the pain he and Rihanna imposed on each other, and the lost of a special friend, He broke down with emotion as any human with a heart would do, with that much weight on your shoulder. I am a fan of any one who can entertain me, Chris entertained me on the BET Awards, thanks Chris. He has a strong enough support system, and a mother who is there with him through it all, he can’t lose. To breakdown is a human character that we all have done, why it that Chris breaking down had to be fake! Keep up the good work Chris, we are proud of you. America- Squash the Rihanna thing, instead of criticizing him, learn some talent yourself other than being criticizing hippocrates. I bet most of you would accept Chris if he threw 100 dollar bills out at you, you all would love him then. His emotions were worth more than that to me and many others.

    45. deliciousmee81 says:

I saw the chris brown performance i say it was great i knw he was for real n it was heartfelt n for all ur haters FUCKOFF N LEAVE HM ALONE dat bitch rihanna is nt innocent herself all im gonna say is to her wat u do n the dark will come nto the light sumone needs to expose her ugly ass n jayz is still fuckn her beyonce nds to watch her man n her…

    46. Linda says:

Oh please. He needs the money from record sales. While he did love Michael, this was mostly a cheap publicity stunt and he made himself look weak. This was unprofessional and disrespectful toward Michael because Chris took away a moment that was supposed to be about MJ.

    47. lmr89 says:

wat ppl need 2 understand is chris is human he makes mistakes just like everyone else im pretty sure these ppl that r judging him in the world rite now have made plenty of mistakes that they wish they could b 4given 4 and everyone is letting chris browns great talent b shadow by his mistake regardless of how anyone feels bout him we all deep down kno he is amazingly talented i support him 100% and its not supporting wat he did but its supporting him as an artist no one really knos wat happened that nite just the 2 of them so who r we 2 judge something we dnt really kno anything bout and there r other celberties that have done the same thing so why arent they being attacked like chris is ive always been a fan of his and even when everything broke out i never gave up on him and i will always b a devoted fan and the ppl that r calling him fake and saying him crying was fake how the hell would u kno that no one knos wat he was feeing only he himself knos

    48. C says:

WOW…. THAT WAS A GREAT PREFORMANCE… I BELIEVE IT WAS A VERY TOUCHING TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON, I WAS SPEECHLESS.. PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES BUT IT DOESN’T MEAN THAT THIS WASN’T A HEARTFELT TRIBUTE, BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT WAS, AND IT WAS A GREAT ONE, ONE THAT WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN… SO CHIRS KEEP IT UP AND WE BELIEVE IN YOU, N THIS PREFORMANCE…. ESP SINCE IT WAS JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER THE ONE YR ANNIVERSARY OF MICHAEL’S DEATH… BELIEVE IT , U DID GOOD!!! THIS IS COMIMG FROM SOPMEONE WHO GREW UP HEARING THE JACKSON 5 N MICHAEL JACKSON, AND TRUELY BELIEVES/BELIEVED IN MICHAEL…. AND FEEL SORRY FOR THE ONES WHO HURT HIM SO… THANK YOU CHRIS…KEEP IT UP

    49. CB ISA Loser says:

Yeah, the kid can dance and sing. Big deal. So can a tons of other people. Give him a 2nd chance? Maybe he should go away for a while and let people miss him, let our anger at his abusive behavior die down a little. He’s an ego maniac who can ‘t stand to lose the spot light and the money.

Well, life is about more that stardom and the big bucks. If he really is as gifted as you folks seem to think, than time out of the limelight won’t really hurt him. He needs to go away, grow up, do something sincerely good. instead of just the staged good deeds his handlers think up.

Bottom line is – he beat the crap out of a woman and just because he’s a talented entertainer doesn’t mean he should automatically get a pass. He behaved like a punk and needs to prove that he’s honestly remorseful and changed.

On the other hand, they say once a schmuck always a schmuck, so can he really change??

    50. j.parker says:

I think at first, he was getting choked up about the death of michael l and then realized people had sympathy and started acting dramatic.Personally I don’t care. I was never IN LOVE with this guy any way he can do what ever he wants. NOT MY LIFE. As for rihanna she should just forgive and forget. The man already lost 76% of his fans. This whole music industry now is GARBAGE.

    51. beautymark says:

ikno false alerts nd this wasnt one…chris brown broke down because he is a young man who made a choice to grow up faster than normal kids. he fell for a girl who he thought was the love of his life he didnt have noone schooln him on how to treat a lady let alone deal with real grown folks problems in a relationship chris was used to being that goofy cool kid who all the girls loved b/c he was cute nd a charmer. rihanna knew he was a ladies man when she got with em so if she grew feelings nd got jealous that was her downfall b/c the perfect guy for her is a heartbreaker/ladies man. i believe his intentions were good he was just young nd made the wrong decision. regardless of what rihanna said or did it is never a good thing or look to attack a woman …i too have been in rihannas heels nd as much as i have love for my ex i would never get into a relationship with him but that doesnt mean he isnt forgiven . i think they moved on with there lives so everyone else should too this will forever be a sour subject

      • englishpurr says:

i agree with you those were real tears ..Also a young good looking boy turning into a man it is hard . Him and others dont have a strong male in there lives to teach them how to treat a lady..As for miss hottie she could have pushed him over the limit she has a sharp mouth , dont get me wrong that does not mean he was right to put his hands on her.. His show at the awards was great no-one can copy the king like him… as for the song it hit his heart cause what he has just been through and he like us miss the king.M.J..

      • sue farmer says:

I have waited a year to see chris brown do his tribute to MJ. You heard it when Jermaine introduced him, he has been waiting for it also. I thought he would be on the show last year and was disappointed when he wasn’t. What he did was wrong, there is no excuse. I have been there. But he deserves a chance to change his life, and it seems like he is doing it. He had to grow quickly and it is not easy to be in the lime light to do it. You can’t change the fact that he is a very talented young man. Hopefully, he turns this lesson into a positive in his life. So far, I think he is doing it. I am so glad I was able to see his tribute. His breakdown was for real, probably for many reasons. But the song, “Man in the Mirror” is a very emotional song. Its time to let it go, and let him move on. does anyone remember when Jason Kidd was arrested for domestic abuse against his wife? and yet he still has his fans. so does Chris. I loved his performance and look forward to seeing more of his videos.

    52. roshell says:

ok yall r some dumb fuckers an the first place.chris brown was crying because his hero was gone which was mj and yall cant get mad at him for hitting rihanna.shit!! we dont know what that hoe did to chris brown.beside it all done an over with.he leard his lesson from the first b.e.t awards because jay-z didnt not let him perform.so yall just need to shut the fuck up and get over yall mother fucking selves because he did that in the b.e.t awards an one elese could hace done it better

        • Chrisfan says:

Chris was real y’all. NOBODY Does the Ugly cry in public. few tears, Yes, But not the ugly cry. Chris was real. KUDOS to him. And People Need to get off his back for what happened a year ago. I mean DAMN! Now Mike(RIP) Is gone so they dont have anyone to bash, so they picked CB.

Michael will always be my NUMBER ONE! I will LOVE HIM Till my LAST Breath.

CB is cool. I like him. I dont know why the world Has to forgive him. Its none of our buisness. If he werent famous.

They built Mike up, and try to bring him down. At the end they Killed him. I hope they dont do that to CB!

    57. Cassey says:

ever since chris brown started singing and dancing i luved him. and it was hard 4 me 2 stop. so wen i heard that he had hit rihanna and i really wanted 2 hate him but i couldnt. everybody was talking so much shit about him but i was the one 2 say somethin like “he is truly sorry” wen i didnt noe wat the hell was goin on. so wen he appeared at the bet awards doin the m.j. tribute im like “i hope the crowd cheers 4 him becuz i noe he messed up” then wen he started singin man in the mirror i started cryin becuz he was crying. the first thing i thought was “he hit rihanna-is that the reason hes crying or does he really miss m.j. like that?” i realized it was both and wen he gave that speech about how he fucked up and he will never do it again i started to have faith in him again. this was my favorite part cuz:BREEZY IS BACK BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

    58. Brandison says:

yo sick n tired of haterz needs 2 shut the hell up. ppl. neva bashed m.j. and nobody iz bashin c.b. he hit a woman n every noes neva put cha hands on a woman. m.j. was accused of raping but hey we still luv dem both so sit down man

    59. Tryauth says:

It is amazing how music can prick a heart better than any sermon.
that song did more for Chris Brown than amillion days in jail! He was sincere in his tears. To tell the truth, it put me in shock!

    60. charlotte says:

i just wnt to say that leave chris brown alone .. i mean come on people . the man wants to move on . he learn his lesson from his mistakes after all we don’t know what happen between riri & him so people should stop judging him as if we know him . everyone is imperfect and made mistakes . i believe that he really loves music and i think he really deserves a second chance.

    61. mommi2hood says:

I think those where real tears come on he couldnt even finish the song.He made a mistake thats all i mean personally he shouldnt he been so serious with her anyway to me she was tryna get more publicity. She ruined that man career because she a jealous hearted person. Anit no man going to really beat a women that bad unless she did something to trigger it she looks sneaky . Really and truly she sounded all fake to me to get attention if she was that scared she wouldnt wanna even talk about it. She took it to the extreme dont get me wrong he went a little to far tho but hey everyone makes mistakes. So many people look down at him for what he did and thats not right. They both young they got a whole life ahead of them i mean kids going to be kids. Thats one thing i hate about this world always put a black man down and dont look at it from both point of views. EVERY BODY THATS STILL MAKIN IT A BIG DEAL NEED TO GET OVER IT HE SUFFERED ENOUGH.

    62. mommi2hood says:

ITS OK CHRIS DONT LET THEM BREAK YOU DOWN… SAME THING THEY DID TO MICHAEL WAS BREAK EM DONT LET THEM DO IT TO YOU! TALK TO THE MAN UPSTAIRS HE KNOWS THE ANSWER FOR YOU!!!!!!! ALWAYS TRYING TO BREAK THE BLACK MEN DOWN UGHHHHHH I HATE THAT!!!!!!!! I LIKE RIHANNA MUSIC BUT NOT AS MUCH

    63. jaye says:

While there were only two in the car when said incident occurred….it appears that the entire world feels that they should have a say-so. In situations involving domestic violence how do you expect the generational curse to be broken if you don’t allow for change. Please allow this young brother to go on with his life and talent (as Rhianna has been allowed to do so). The blessing in this storm is that he has acknowledged to public and Rhianna his sorrow for this incident. I am a strong believer that only “GOD” should be his judge and that we should reach out to him as so many have to Rhianna and help him to be a better CHRIS BROWN.

    64. Chrisfan says:

Chris Brown YOU BETTER COME OUT!!!!!!!!

Rihanna was lucky to have her career left untouched after the incident. We know she was violent. There’s no excuse for that.

ya what Chris did was wrong but if I were to star a fight with a bouncer he would wup my ass and nobody would pity me cuz I started it.

    69. asheypooh says:

CHRIS DID HIS THANG ON THAT STAGE!
he is wanting his career back! he is wanting America to forgive him!
      why cant people realize that???
CHRIS WAS AND STILL IS MY NUMBER ONE SINGER!
he left his heart on that stage..
rihanna, jay-z, or beyonce didnt even show up because dude performed and that is down-right SAD!
but yet they are suppoesd to be grownup’s?!? and they wonder why children do the things they do now?? its because they look up to poeple lik jay-z and beyonce and some even rihanna and sadly chris brown’s too and those are the type of actions that are making the kids worse and worse in this day in time.

C-BREEZY I LOVE YA! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

      • Tiffany says:

If Chris wasn’t famous, no one for the most part would have cared about the abuse except those closest to him. But since he is a music icon, everything is publicized. I have been praying for this young man since day one. And he has a calling on his life to minister to the masses. Although the media was used to break Chris down, God used it to humble him instead. Everyone one knows the music industry and everyone involved can be a devil’s chamber if you allow it. Unfortunately for Chris, he had to learn things the hard way. None of us are perfect….if that were the case Jesus would have never died on the cross for all of us. We are all guilty of something and we all have areas that need working on. To Chris: You have repented and asked God to forgive you and to re-shape your career. In doing so, just make sure that you deliver on all the promises you made to God. Don’t worry about Rihanna…..God’s got that taken care of. Don’t dwell on someone you were never supposed to be with in the first place. God has a special woman tailor made just for you. In do time, you will meet her and the world will know…Mrs. Chris Brown.

No matter what Chris had done to Rhianna and there is no excuse for it but as an artis he is still AMAZING and as a young kid, he’s not a man yet. Hate to say it but how many young kids out there do you know that act a fool and realized thier mistake.. He’s growing and he’s learning. His performace on BET was from the heart and spectacular. His tears are real, how could it not be? I watched it on TV and it gave me goose bumps and brought tears to my eyes how could it not bring tears and even more hurt to his.
Regardless what he has done, Chris Brown is still one of the best artist of this century hands down!!

    80. klementina says:

chris brown made a mistake that beat rihanna but this is not chris brown reason to not be successful he is pretty talented … so in short he is a complete artist and deserves to be the estimate from the public and from criticism because his songs are very beautiful …… and in terms of rihanna she has used this situation very well to win the public’s attention to leave chris brown shades. and if it comes to chris brown talent is a thousand times more talented than rihanna … his voice does not compare to that of rihannes ….. so he deserves the attention of everyone for his wonderful song ……
      you rock chris brown….love ya
